Mrs. Lavigne is proud to announce that after decades of growing exceptional grapes for other vintners, Lavigne Sonoma will finally release its own signature wine under the Lavigne label. This milestone marks an exciting new chapter for a family that has quietly focused on farming and quality for generations.
She also wants to address recent rumors suggesting the family was upset about the upcoming film inspired by her late sons, Alain and Theo Lavigne. Those stories are completely false. The Lavigne family is thrilled about the movie’s release and is working closely with the filmmakers to support the project. It is a season of celebration, creativity, and new beginnings for Lavigne Sonoma.

Our perfected proprietary blend “Blood Wine” is a beautifully balanced red blend crafted from exceptional Pinot Noir grapes grown in the renowned Lavigne Sonoma vineyard. Rich layers of dark cherry, ripe plum, and soft spice mingle with elegant oak and a smooth, lingering finish, creating a wine that is both refined and memorable. The name pays homage to the upcoming feature film Blood Wine, an entertaining horror story inspired by Sonoma County lore and the colorful legends that surround the region’s early winemaking days.
While the film is a work of imaginative fiction created purely for thrills, this special release celebrates the real legacy of the Lavigne Brothers, innovative winemakers whose vision helped shape the vineyard in 1986. Though they eventually shut the world out, those who knew them remember their kindness, their generosity, and the deep bond they shared. They gave freely of themselves and helped shape a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Let their story also serve as a warning. There are forces that demand respect and understanding, and certain ingredients, such as the datura plant long associated with ritual and witchcraft, are not to be handled carelessly. The brothers sought something beyond the ordinary, and in doing so, paid a price few could comprehend. Still, they should be remembered not for the mystery that surrounded their end, but for the greatness and goodness they carried while they were alive.
